training supervisors...building teams

What is the #1 reason people leave their jobs?

Answer: they do not feel appreciated. First-line supervisors in public and private organizations have a major impact on the morale of line workers, employee turnover and retention as well as work quality and the productivity of staff.

SuccessfulSupervisor, through its fee based training services and tool kits as well as free tips and assessment instruments, helps first-line supervisors create an employee and customer friendly place to work that hits or exceeds its goals.

Survey to assess what your team members expect from you

As you begin your journey into first-line supervision, it is important to reflect on what your staff will expect of you. A self-assessment has been developed based on research done in this area regarding what people might be looking for from their boss. This assessment should be completed during your initial six months as a first-line supervisor and annually thereafter. To validate your own self-assessment, we recommend you have your staff complete this assessment of you, preferably, anonymously, to insure candor. It also is best to have a third-party tally the input of your staff. You can then compare your perceptions with theirs. In the final analysis, their perceptions count more than yours do.

3 = High priority 2 = Medium priority 1 = Low priority
