Please use the fifteen (15) behavior guidelines presented below in preparing for and delivering future “talks” to your team. If you incorporate these behaviors into your future presentations and talks, people will listen to you and be more influenced by what you say.

Grab the attention of the group at the outset. Story? Quote? Quip? Prop? |

Use visual aids to get the group to focus. Using an easel does this easily. |

Be enthusiastic in your body language |

Rehearse your talk. Have an outline with you. |
|

Maintain eye contact with the group and move your eyes around to different people |

Prepare for questions. Anticipate. What would you ask as a team member? |

Speak in a strong voice. |

Support your key points with examples or data. |
|

Master your subject or topic. Do your research. Do not wing it. |

Limit the key points you make. Five or less if possible. |

Force yourself to relax and be physically mobile…do not tie yourself to a fixed spot. |
